The Jonas Brothers Tour Cancelled: 'A Deep Rift Within The Band'

The popular musical group The Jonas Brothers were set to begin a 19-city tour, starting in Pennsylvania later this week, but they have since cancelled the tour. Reports say that this was not a financial decision based on ticket sales, but rather a decision based on difference of opinion within the band.

"Ticket sales were fine, and this certainly wasn't about tickets. This was a small venue tour, [they] had just come off a very successful summer run in bigger venues that sold very well, and the guys wanted to keep the team together through the fall until another larger run next summer-- mostly to support the new music," a source said to E! online.

The source also said that the decision to cancel the tour was not based on "personal issues."

"They're brothers and that will never change. This isn't about personal issues. The guys recorded a lot of music and there was broad disagreement within the group about what direction to take the music," the insider claimed.

A representative of the band, Jesse Derris, conflicted with the unnamed insider, saying that the brothers disagreed on their music and that is why they cancelled the tour. However, the representative made it seem like the disagreement is serious.

"There is a deep rift within the band. There was a big a disagreement over their music direction," Derris said to People magazine.

Derris went on to imply that going forward, the band may face more trouble. People asked what the tour cancellation means for the future of The Jonas Brothers.

"It remains to be seen," Derris said.
