'The Last Ship' Season 2 News, Spoilers: Chandler Cruises the Nathan James in Dangerous Waters to Gather Supplies

Things are getting more intense as the second season of TNT's hit post-apocalyptic thriller drama TV series "The Last Ship" continues this week. The episode will see Chandler (Eric Dane) and the rest of the Nathan James crew embarking on mission that could endanger their lives.

Spoiler reports from Carter Matt said that the episode titled "Uneasy Lies the Hand" will find the captain traversing the vessel in a dangerous territory to find the needed supplies for Dr. Scott's (Rhona Mitra) laboratory experiments. With the doctor on the verge of a breakthrough, acquiring those materials is a must.

Rachel, on her part, still has to face yet another challenge in her mission to save humanity from possible extinction. She has to deal with the fact that Niels (Ebon Miss-Bachrach), also known as Patient Zero, is aboard the Nathan James. Despite her abhorrence towards the person who almost wiped out humanity, she must deal with the situation as she needs Niels to piece together Dr. Hunter's formula for the cure.

Burk (Jocko Sims), meanwhile, stumbles upon a group of children who have made a deal with the Immunes. The synopsis for the episode indicates that the gang was offered a bounty by the Immunes in exchange for information about the U.S. Navy.

"A vicious battle ensues when the Immunes come to collect their prisoners," the summary reads.

Executive producer Hank Steinberg, who appeared during the San Diego Comic-Con, revealed some details about the sophomore season of the show. On the panel, he teased that the rest of the season will see how the other countries have fared after the apocalypse.

"This season, we'll also see glimpses into the state of affairs in the rest of world, provided that the crew can begin to wrestle the beast of what America's going through," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"The Last Ship" airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on TNT.
