'The Strain' Season 2 News, Spoilers: What to Expect in 'By Any Means'?
The sophomore season of FX's hit TV drama series "The Strain" premiered with an exceptional amount of macabre and horror when it featured the backstory of the "Master," a much-closer encounter with the "turned" people, and a new breed of creatures.
This Sunday, spoiler reports indicated that the show would once again put its viewers on the edge of their seats as yet another development will come into play.
For one, Eph (Corey Stoll) and Nora (Mia Maestro) will begin to perform experiments on a couple of middle-aged patients whom they witnessed getting infected with the vampiric virus. It was their initial plan to create a biological weapon that could kill or perhaps cure the "strigois."
Meanwhile, Vasiliy (Kevin Durand) and Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) continues to get closer with each other as they carry out their self-imposed mission to secure the whole neighbourhood from the turned people.
In another interesting subplot, Eichorst (Richard Sammel) summoned Eph's estranged wife, Kelly (Natalie Brown) from slumber and introduced her to "her new family" composed of newly-turned children abducted from a school for the blind.
This weekend's segment will likely to feature the new condition to which Kelly was in. It was revealed during the premiere that she has been given by the Master the will to control herself, much like the sinister undead acolyte. The synopsis however teased that she will begin her search for her biological son, Zach (Max Charles).
Executive producer Carlton Cuse meanwhile revealed during the recently-held Comic-Con International that Season 2 will begin to introduce different types of vampires that are part of the show's mythology.
"The Ancients or Quinlan are these vampires who seem benevolent but they are dimensional," Cuse said.
Find out more when "The Strain" Season 2 airs this Sunday, July 19, at 10 p.m. on FX.
