'÷' Tour News: Ed Sheeran Rushed to the Hospital After Car Accident
Earlier this year, singer Ed Sheeran gave a pleasant surprise to his fans in the form of a new album titled, "÷." Pronounced as "divide," the album has since gained the positive attention of the critics.
Sheeran is due to embark on an Asian tour to promote his album. However, recent reports have revealed that the "Shape of You" singer has been caught in a car accident and that his tour dates for "÷" might be affected.
"Ive had a bit of a bicycle accident and I'm currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows. Please stay tuned for further news. Ed x," the "Perfect" singer Sheeran posted on his Instagram account. He is featured in the accompanying photo, with his right forearm wrapped in a cast, while the other is contained by an arm sling.
According to reports, Sheeran was cycling when the incident happened. The 26-year-old was struck down, and he was immediately rushed to the hospital. The specifics of the incident have yet to be revealed but more information is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, his post on Instagram has incited an outpour of support and get well soon wishes from the fans. Some are concerned that he might have to cancel the tour entirely, especially if he cannot perform without his right arm.
Sheeran was due for Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall in Taiwan on Oct. 22. His camp has yet to announce if it will be cancelled. Supposedly, he will follow up the Taipei concert with those initially scheduled in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and finally, Dubai, before heading to Australia. The "÷" tour is expected to continue until November 2018.
As to whether or not these dates will have to be moved, fans will have to wait and see until Sheeran posts another update.
