Battling for the seventh and eighth spot in the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz meet at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in the National Basketball Association.
The game is scheduled for April 11, 2016 at 9:00 PM ET.
This is the third matchup between the two teams and at the moment, they are tied at 1-1 with this third and final clash determining who wins the series between the two West teams.
Furthermore, the winner of this battle will have a distinct advantage over the other as it gives them the higher seed in the standings, if ever they end up with similar records.
And standings are the most important thing for both teams at the moment as the Mavericks and the Jazz are the only two teams who have not secured their spot in the playoffs – with the Mavericks seventh at the moment with a 41-39 record, and the Jazz are eighth at 40-40.
With a 1.0 game advantage over the Jazz, the Mavericks can secure their seventh spot with a win, while giving the Jazz a big dent as the Houston Rockets are right on the heels of the Jazz.
The Rockets have a game in the same day as well and if they win, and the Jazz lose, both teams will have a 40-41 record and with one more matchup remaining, it could still mean the Jazz miss out on the playoffs.
For Dallas, a loss gives them a similar record with the Jazz at 41-40, and they will both look out for the Rockets as well in their last two games.
There are many scenarios in play in this matchup, and both teams can only help their causes by getting a victory.
Many believe that the playoffs have started for these teams already – and expect a real tough matchup for 48 minutes.
