Who is Mukhammadzoir Kadirov? Person of Interest Sought in NYC Terror Attack

Authorities have found a man who might be associated with Sayfullo Saipov, the person responsible for killing eight people and injuring dozens in Manhattan. It is dubbed the deadliest terror attack on New York City since Sept. 11, 2001.

The FBI distributed wanted posters for Mukhammadzoir Kadirov on Wed. but at a more recent press briefing, they said they were able to locate the man an hour after.

"We have found him and we will leave it at that," Bill Sweeney, the assistant director of the FBI, told the press.

Federal authorities are looking into Kadirov, who has reportedly been in touch with Saipov. As of now, it remains unclear if he knew about the latter's plans. Law enforcement officials did say they have yet to find anything that suggests he was involved in the Manhattan truck attack.

It is important to note that as of now, Kadirov is not being considered as a suspect. Authorities, as well as Gov. Andrew Cuomo, have called Saipov a "lone actor."

The Uzbekistan national drove through the Hudson River Greenway bike path, killing five Argentinians who were celebrating an anniversary, a Belgian national, a New Yorker, and a cyclist from New Jersey.

A note was allegedly found in the attacker's truck which reads "ISIS endures forever."

Saipov, who has studied the ISIS propaganda, told authorities about his meticulous plan, which he started plotting last year. He admittedly chose to strike on Halloween, thinking more people would be loitering the streets.

Federal prosecutors have charged Saipov on Wednesday, just about 24 hours after his attack.

The investigators are interviewing Saipov's wife, Nozima Odilova. The pair resides in Paterson, New Jersey. They have three children together.

Authorities seek the public on information about Kadirov and are encouraging them to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
