‘We remember our heroes’: Christians reflect on the 75th anniversary of D-Day

Thursday marks the 75th anniversary of when Allied forces invaded Normandy in occupied France during the Second World War, in an invasion known as D-Day.

Considered by many to be the largest amphibious invasion in military history, approximately 156,000 American, British, and Canadian troops landed on five beaches, eventually liberating France from Nazi control.

Amid the celebrations, remembrance, re-enactments, and solemn assemblies, here are what four Christian leaders have to say about that crucial turning point in the 20th century’s largest war.
