America needs to be saturated with prayer on Thursday, May 3. From small towns to state capitals to Washington, DC, as Christ followers, we should do all we can to pray for our nation on this special day.
Division abounds in almost every segment of America. Sadly, it exists even between Christians and in most churches. For too long, disunity has triumphed in our nation. It is time for this to come to an end.
As the pastor goes, so goes the church. As the church goes, so goes America. With all I am, I believe this.
Are we making every effort to live in unity and oneness in the Church? Do we create suspicion and division rather than unity and oneness? Are we making every effort to live in unity and oneness with other churches that believe the basics of the faith like we do? Or are we marked with a spiritual arrogance like we have a corner on all God's truth?
People need each other. Following having a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, our greatest need is each other. But the American way compels us to live independently of one another. This leads to a selfish and oftentimes destructive life.
There is a lot of pain in America. In the last five years, Americans have lived under great stress, deep division, nuclear threat, terroristic intimidation, political unrest, gender confusion, multiple crises, endless tragedies, mass shootings, and continual revelations of sexual harassment and unethical behavior.
We have never been where we are today as a nation. While division abounds in almost every segment of America, it is time to cry out to God in prayer for America. No longer can the people of God be silent before the Lord.
We're living through a moment in American life unlike any many of us have seen before. Nearly every week some new controversy erupts, some evil act of violence wrecks our daily routine or some international event fills our minds with images of impending war and catastrophic destruction.
Before this hallowed weekend arrives, we should pause for a moment and remember that before there was a Good Friday — or even an Easter Sunday — there was a Thursday night.
America might need a thousand solutions for the challenges we currently face.
It is time to stand together.
The overall emphasis is something every person can do. Everyone can pray with specificity about things on their heart and things we will share for twenty-one days.

People who are spiritually lost without Jesus Christ will continue to live like they are spiritually lost without Jesus Christ. That is why America needs Jesus more now than ever before.
America needs Jesus Christ more now than ever before. Our hearts should be broken for the lost people of America and the world. Mocking it helps no one. Ignoring it does not make it go away.
By faith we trust in God's sovereign will. We join Him in all He is doing. As He invites us to join Him, trust Him. He is worthy to be trusted.
The most effective prayer plan is the one you will use. What I know: If you do not have a plan to pray, usually you will not pray consistently and effectively.
After 31 years of serving the same church, I can assure you that every pastor will be the subject of criticism.
Prayer led by the pastor of the church used to be a normal part of worship services. What was deemed in the past as a part of public worship, has now been minimized, eliminated, or delegated. This is not acceptable or good for the church.
The entire church of Jesus Christ in our nation needs to convictionally come together in unified prevailing prayer for the next great move of God in America. There is no greater need in America. What will it take to wake us up, die to ourselves, and come together under the banner of the cross?
If we are not extremely intentional, we can become so busy doing many good things that we are not doing the main things that will help us advance the gospel in our region and move the entire week toward Sunday. Remember, everything builds toward Sunday!
Let's walk in unity by praying for these four priorities in our nation beginning now and continuing through the entire month of October. Ask God to bring together His Church in America as a witness to the world.
I believe in pastors of local churches. I'd like to share four reasons why I believe in pastors. Pastors of local churches are not any more perfect than anyone else. Yet, they are called of God to lead the church.
