1. Jail records list suspect as male

Howlett remained in custody at the Clark County Detention Center, according to online jail records. The records list Howlett's sex as male, and the arrest report describes Howlett as identifying himself as transgender.

A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department official told media outlets that while Howlett identifies as transgender, he hasn't fully transitioned, meaning that he has not undergone castration, which is why jail records list Howlett as male.
