Talarico, other Democrats say they oppose trans athletes in girls’ sports: list
4. Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton
The RealClearPolitics average of polls in the Ohio gubernatorial race between Democrat Amy Acton and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy shows Acton with a narrow lead of 0.3 percentage points. In the 2024 presidential election, Trump won Ohio by double digits.
“I do not support boys playing in girls' sports,” Acton insisted in comments reported by The Toledo Blade in June.
Acton also said she would uphold Ohio’s law restricting trans-identified male athletes from competing in women’s sports if elected governor.
“This is already settled law in Ohio, and as governor I will enforce and uphold the law,” she said. “As a doctor, public servant, and a mom, I will always stand up for fairness and protect kids’ health and safety.”
