“Veggie Tales” co-creator Phil Vischer says Christian filmmakers will have to start addressing LGBT issues and same-sex relationships from a biblical perspective because children are already seeing these storylines in secular movies and TV shows.

“Parents are definitely going to have to deal with a growing LGBT presence in children’s media,” Vischer told The Christian Post. “It’s going to show up more and more as the world has decided that LGBT issues are in the same categories as race and civil rights issues. So to say you shouldn’t have a same-sex couple on 'Sesame Street' is the equivalent of saying you shouldn’t have a black couple on 'Sesame Street.'"

Bishops offer help to immigrant families affected by Mississippi ICE raids

A group of Mississippi-based bishops representing multiple Christian denominations pledged to support the families of illegal immigrants detained by immigration authorities.

The joint statement calls on churches “to act in love as a unified community” for those affected by the recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Mississippi.

The bishops said: “We can stand in solidarity to provide solace, material assistance and strength for the separated and traumatized children, parents and families.”

The joint statement was signed by Bishop Joseph R. Kopacz of the Catholic Diocese of Jackson; Bishop Louis F. Kihneman III of the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi; Bishop Brian R. Seage of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi; Bishop James E. Swanson Sr. of the Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church; and Bishop H. Julian Gordy of the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

Tenth Avenue North frontman not shocked some Christians losing faith: Jesus said they would

Lead singer of the award-winning Christian rock band Tenth Avenue North, Mike Donehey, shared his thoughts about popular Christian leaders publicly renouncing their faith.

Donehey told The Christian Post he believes those who are losing faith are like the seed Jesus talked about in scripture, found in the three Synoptic Gospels, Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, and Luke 8:4-15.

“Jesus promised us things like this would happen. He was like, ‘The kingdom of God is like a dude with some seeds, and he's throwing them out and you know what? Some seeds are going to grow up and some are going to wither, some seeds are going to start growing amongst thorns and get choked out, some seeds are going to get trampled, some seeds are going to get eaten,” Donehey paraphrased.

Founder of Auntie Anne's shares how Christian faith saved her from sexual abuse, suicide

Anne Beiler, founder of Auntie Anne’s, grew her business from a single stand in 1987 into the world’s largest hand-rolled soft pretzel franchise.

Beiler’s success, however, was forged after years of depression and shame stemming from tragedy in her life, including devastating personal loss, an abusive sexual relationship, and spiritual manipulation.

“Without God, there would be no Auntie Anne’s today. I can say that with confidence,” Beiler told The Christian Post. “I would’ve died. I was about to run away and start a new life. Instead, God said, ‘Get up off your knees.’ What I know now is that all of the things I’ve experienced have been for a purpose; out of my pain, purpose was born.”
