— Pro-life activists divided on Tennessee bill to ban most abortions
Pro-life activists are split on a measure in Tennessee to ban most all abortions, fearing it could backfire at the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Tennessee state legislature met last week for a summer study to discuss a proposed amendment to a fetal heartbeat bill that defines life as beginning at conception and viability upon detection of human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone that can be detected in some pregnancy tests.
Among pro-life activists who spoke at the meeting is Jim Bopp, the general counsel for the National Right to Life Committee.
Bopp said: “We know there are four justice who have already voted to reaffirm Roe v. Wade and if given the chance, they would redefine Roe v. Wade as gender discrimination so that every single regulation that touches abortion, conscience clauses, funding, you name it, would be declared unconstitutional.”

Christian advocacy groups are speaking out after the Trump administration announced a new regulation Wednesday that would allow for migrant children to be detained without limit in immigration detention facilities.
The Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services unveiled the new rulethat opens the door for the Trump administration to indefinitely detain illegal migrant families who cross the U.S. southern border indefinitely.
Acting DHS Secretary Kevin K. McAleenan said in a statement that the new rule will permit the DHS to “appropriately hold families together and improve the integrity of the immigration system.”
— Ohio Supreme Court rejects abortion clinic’s appeal to stay open
Ohio’s state Supreme Court rejected an abortion clinic's argument that it should remain open without obtaining hospital admitting privileges.
On Wednesday, the court voted 4-3 against taking up the appeal for the Women’s Medical Center abortion clinic in Dayton.
The abortion clinic was unable to meet the state’s basic health and safety standards for ambulatory surgical centers because it couldn't meet the requirements to secure a transfer agreement with a hospital, which is required by law to protect women’s health.
— Priscilla Shirer warns against putting people on pedestals
"War Room" actress and evangelist Priscilla Shirer is warning believers against putting people on pedestals in light of a number of high-profile Christian leaders who have renounced or expressed doubts about their faith.
Former pastor Joshua Harris who authored the best-selling 1997 book I Kissed Dating Goodbye revealed late last month that he is no longer a Christian. His announcement was followed by other prominent Christian figures like Marty Sampson who has written worship songs for Hillsong, to reveal that is faith is on “shaky ground.”
in an interview with Faithwire, Shirer said: “When they fall, the fall is hard and rough on everybody. No one is perfect except our Lord and we’ve got to take the burden off of people’s shoulders to be what only Jesus can be for us and only what the Holy Spirit can be for us.”
