Church settles breastfeeding lawsuit after telling mother she could cause men to lust

A church in Michigan has settled a lawsuit brought against it by a mother who claimed she was shamed by church staff for breastfeeding her baby during a service in 2018.

Mother Amy Marchant claims she was told she was being immodest by breastfeeding her infant child while at the church service in June 2018. After voicing her displeasure, she later met with former lead pastor Ben Walls Sr. and was told that her exposure could cause men to “lust and stumble.”

The lawsuit claims that the embarrassment suffered caused Marchant and her family to leave the church.

Tennessee to continue accepting refugees as Republican gov. upsets conservatives

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has given consent to allow refugee resettlement in 2020 in accordance with President Donald Trump’s executive order giving states and localities the ability to block resettlement.

Tennessee is among just a handful of Republican-led states that have offered consent to refugee resettlement following Trump’s Sept. 26 executive order.

In a statement, Lee stressed that the U.S. has always been a “shining beacon of freedom and opportunity for the persecuted and oppressed,” especially for those suffering from religious persecution.

President Donald Trump impeached

On Wednesday evening, the House of Representatives voted in favor of sending Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate.

President Trump faces two charges, that of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Texas megachurch pastor and longtime Trump supporter Robert Jeffress took to his Twitter account to argue that the House impeachment vote was a “farce” and will create a backlash in favor of Trump's next presidential election.

“There are millions of Christians who REALLY mean it when they say they are praying for President @realDonaldTrump,” tweeted Jeffress. “Today’s impeachment vote will ensure these same Christians turn out in record numbers to re-elect him in 2020!”
