A new documentary on the life of professional surfer and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton is out in theaters Friday (July 12).

The film is called “Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable” and it gives viewers an intimate look at her personal life, including motherhood, and her comeback as one of the top surfing champions in the world despite losing one arm.

“We all have circumstances that come out of nowhere and throw a wrench in our plans. Yet it is possible to overcome them and to value the beautiful things in life — and not only that but thrive and accomplish more than we or anyone else thought possible!” she said.

— Polls show Americans more likely to support abortion

Sixty percent of Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. That’s the highest abortion support seen since the poll was first conducted in 1995.

Only 36% said abortion should be illegal in most or all cases.

The poll comes as several states have passed laws this year to either restrict or expand abortion following the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

— Top European court to hear case of Christian family whose kids were removed from home

The European Court of Human Rights agreed to hear the case of a Christian family that fled Norway after their five children were seized for months by the Scandinavian country’s controversial child protective services agency.

The removal occurred in November 2015 over allegations that the Bodnarius spanked their children. Alliance Defending Freedom International, which is representing the Pentecostal family, contends that the family’s religion played some role in the removal.

The children were returned six months later following protests.

Several families have spoken out against Norway’s child services agency, the Barnevernet, for taking their children. One American mother, Amy Jakobsen Bjornevag, whose son was removed from her care in 2013, said last year that her son was on the verge of being forcibly adopted.

—$240K worth of fake copies of Christian author’s book sold on Amazon

Tish Harrison Warren, a priest in the Anglican Church in North America and the author of Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life, asked her supporters for help and prayers Monday after learning that Amazon had sold some $240,000 worth of fake copies of her book.

Amazon removed the resellers from its store after her publisher, InterVarsity Press, filed a complaint.

The publisher said it believes “that there are other authors and publishers who will find themselves in a similar situation. It is our hope that by exposing what has happened with Liturgy of the Ordinary we will raise awareness of counterfeiting among publishers and readers alike.”

— UK doctor fired for refusing to call bearded man a ‘she’

A Christian physician lost his job in a British government agency after he was asked whether he would address a man who was six feet tall and had a beard by female pronouns like "she" and "Mrs."

Dr. David Mackereth said his refusal "to make an abstract ideological pledge" resulted in his dismissal as a disability benefits assessor in the Department of Work and Pensions.

He filed a lawsuit, claiming religious discrimination. The government agency contends that his faith-based views are not compatible with "human dignity" as set forth in the 2010 Equality Act.
