In God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel: How Truth Overwhelms a Life Built on Lies, a new book set for release on July 9, Benny Hinn's nephew, Costi Hinn, reveals the Hinn family’s exploitation of millions around the world with the prosperity gospel. It’s a revealing, cautionary and tragic tale that attempts to atone for his role in it.

Costi Hinn wrote, “My uncle has systematically exploited poverty-stricken countries for 40 years to get rich, and now other family members are following in his footsteps. Allow me to get painfully honest for a moment: for most of our family members, it can be pretty embarrassing to be a Hinn."

Declining church attendance causing depression in some pastors, Global United Fellowship is pushing back

Neil C. Ellis, Presiding Bishop of the Global United Fellowship, told The Christian Post that when their annual gathering kicks off at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas on Tuesday there will be a focus on how declining church attendance has been causing mental turmoil for members worldwide.

“There has been a global decline in church attendance in the last five to seven years. And so a lot of pastors now are becoming depressed because their numbers are smaller,” Ellis told CP.

At the conference two years ago, Ellis said, three pastors shared publicly with the group that they had contemplated suicide. That event intensified his desire to minister to his fellow pastors.

Egypt legalizes 127 Christian churches; over 1,000 approved by government.

Egypt has greenlit the legalization of 127 congregations that were previously operating without a government permit in the latest wave of recent church approvals.

According to International Christian Concern, the recent permit approvals for the churches came through a committee that the majority Muslim nation created in 2016.

“The committee is a result of a 2016 law which purported to streamline the legalization process for churches. Egypt has a long history of regulating the building of churches, but many churches were not able to complete this process. Instead, they were built illegally,” explained ICC.

Country singer says a visit from Jesus Christ on front porch while battling cancer changed her life

In 2017, Jo Dee Messina was diagnosed with cancer and became seperated from her husband.

"I was at an all time low. I was trying to sustain a career. I had a lifestyle and a family and everything, all on my own, and I couldn't do it. I couldn't. I was pulled way too thin and so, I was just standing on my porch one day, and Jesus Christ walked out and said, 'She's mine.' I just knew it, in the middle of that, in the middle of my spirit and my soul, I'm like, 'That's Jesus,'" Messina said.

All she knew about Jesus at that point came from Christmas and Easter celebrations. So she went to talk with a Christian neighbor to learn more about the savior she met on her porch.

Her newfound faith inspired Messina, who has six No. 1 country singles, to record her own version of the gospel hit, "Reckless Love."
