Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, founder of Christ for All Nations who was known for his large scale evangelistic events held in Africa, died at age 79.

Born in Germany during World War II, Bonnke worked as an evangelist for about six decades, with a special focus on Africa. His final crusade event was held in 2017 in Nigeria, with an audience estimated to be around 1 million.

Kipchumba Murkomen, majority leader of the Kenyan Senate, expressed his condolences over Bonnke's death.

“Fare thee well Ev. Reinhard Bonnke. You touched many lives. For me after Billy Graham it was Reinhard Bonnke. You are safe at home. Rest in Eternal Peace,” he wrote on Twitter.
