Senator Kamala Harris of California has not yet announced that she will be running for the Democratic nomination, but she has a team of advisers and, according to the New York Times, she is considering either Atlanta or Baltimore for her campaign headquarters.

A former attorney general of California who refused to defend Proposition 8 in court, Harris garnered controversy late last month when she critically questioned a federal judicial appointee for his belonging to the Knights of Columbus.

“Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman’s right to choose when you joined the organization?” Kamala asked in written questions submitted to Brian C. Buescher, nominated by President Donald Trump to sit on the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska.

“Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed marriage equality when you joined the organization?”
