3 highlights from Tuesday's primary elections

Voters in three states went to the polls Tuesday to participate in primary elections and runoffs to determine which candidates will appear on the ballot in this year’s midterm elections.
While most of President Donald Trump’s endorsed candidates either won their primaries outright or advanced to a runoff election, one of his preferred candidates fell short in a major swing state race that Republicans had hoped to lock down.
In addition to the regularly scheduled races, a vacant seat in the United States House of Representatives came one step closer to being filled.
