4 potential targets for Trump after Maduro's capture

2. Cuba
One of Venezuela’s closest regional allies, Cuba faces growing pressure after the loss of subsidized oil from Maduro’s regime.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Cuban officials were deeply involved in Maduro’s security.
“It was Cubans that guarded Maduro," Rubio, who is Cuban American, said. "He was not guarded by Venezuelan bodyguards. He had Cuban bodyguards.”
Rubio further stated that Cuban personnel handled “internal intelligence” in Maduro’s government, including spying to prevent traitors.
President Trump, meanwhile, told reporters he sees the island’s economy crumbling further without Venezuelan support: “It’s going down. It’s going down for the count.”
“If I lived in Havana and I was in the government, I’d be concerned at least a little bit,” Rubio added.
Trump described Cuba as “something we’ll end up talking about,” calling it a “very badly failing nation.”
The Cuban government reported 32 officers killed in the U.S. operation, according to Associated Press.
