3. GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw loses primary

Incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw will not be representing the Texas 2nd congressional district in the next legislative session. 

Crenshaw lost to state Rep. Steve Toth after the incumbent garnered just over 40% of the vote, while Toth held over 55% of the tally.

In the run-up to Tuesday, Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL who lost an eye fighting in Afghanistan, had fallen out of favor with many Republican voters over perceived clashes with Trump and his voting record on Ukraine, climate change and other issues.
