5 Bible Verses for Those Contemplating Divorce

If you're contemplating divorce, take heart in knowing that God is with you as you read what our Lord and Savior says about marriage in these five verses.

1) Ephesians 5:33 (NIV)

"However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband."

2) Malachi 2:16

"The man who hates and divorces his wife,'" says the Lord, the God of Israel, 'does violence to the one he should protect,' says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

3) Romans 12:9

"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good."

4) 1 Corinthians 13:13

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

5) 1 Peter 4:8

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."
