5 things to know about the Caleb Flynn murder trial

The murder trial of former worship leader and “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn has captured the attention of Americans this week. Flynn, 40, is accused of murdering his wife, Ashley, inside their Ohio home in February, amid a long-term affair with his church's worshp leader. The trial entered its sixth day Friday.

The biggest development of the week has been the testimony of Flynn’s former mistress, Alleigha Botner, the former worship leader at the Flynn family's church, the Christian Life Center in Butler Township. Flynn worked as a contracted worship leader and volunteer. 

On the stand Thursday, Botner read aloud several messages the two exchanged during the affair, including ones in which Flynn said he wanted to kill his wife and “not go to Hell” for it. The trial has also featured testimony from Ashley Flynn’s parents. Flynn has plead not guilty.
