1. Flynn allegedly told Botner he wanted to kill his wife and ‘not go to Hell’ for it
Botner read aloud a May 16, 2025, message in which Flynn told her, “If I could literally kill her and not go to Hell, I would do it in a heartbeat. That’s how dark and how hateful I feel.”
In a later message, Flynn allegedly told Botner, “I hate her, loathe her, I want her dead.” Throughout the affair, Flynn referred to his wife as “douche.” In a June 12, 2025, message, he asked Botner to “hire someone to take douche out.”
After Flynn repeated that “we have to get rid of douche,” Botner responded: “I don’t even want to say this in a joking way anymore. We need a solution, Caleb. We need it to be me and you forever and no exceptions.”
Flynn allegedly assured Botner, “I’ve never joked about it,” suggesting he was serious about wanting to kill his wife. She also said he repeatedly complained about how much he disliked his wife and lamented that their relationship had not received a “yes from Jesus.”
“I want to kill her, Caleb,” Botner wrote in another message, breaking down on the stand as she read it.
“That makes two of us,” Flynn replied.
Communication between Flynn and Botner slowed after he went on a 15th-anniversary cruise with his wife. When Flynn sought to reconcile, Botner wrote, “I’m not asking that you take her life, obviously, because that’s not what you should do and I know you actually wouldn’t.” Instead, she urged him to “make the divorce happen” and to choose either his wife or her.
That same day, Flynn told Botner he had been “up till 4 a.m. last night crying and literally thinking of ways to kill her and not go to jail.”
