12. Terrisa Bukovinac
Terrisa Bukovinac, the founder of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising and an outspoken pro-life atheist, has filed with the Federal Election Commission to run for president as a Democrat.
Bukovinac elaborates on her campaign message on her website, citing her White House bid as an effort committed to “stopping abortion extremism in the Democratic Party and showing the victims of abortion to the American people.” According to Bukovinac, “1 in 4 Democrats opposes abortion, yet the Democratic Party continues to ignore and erase millions of its constituency.”
“During the last Presidential election, I took to the road, following the Democratic Party through more than a dozen cities, and standing outside the so-called ‘Big Tent’ asking for representation for myself and millions of fellow Democrats,” she recalled. “The Party elites simply ignored us and continued parroting the abortion industry’s tired talking points about their extremist party platform on abortion. I realized I can’t keep hoping someone else will step up to represent us, so I’m taking the stand myself.”

In addition to focusing heavily on the issue of abortion, which she describes as “genocide,” Bukovinac is making healthcare equity, economic justice, racial justice, criminal justice reform and environmental justice major planks of her campaign.
Specifically, Bukovinac wants to “address inequalities in our economic systems in order to ensure equal access to income, credit, employment, and opportunity regardless of a person’s identity,” “examine and dismantle our society’s systems and power structures that reinforce racial hierarchies,” abolish the death penalty and ensure that all Americans have access to healthcare.
