LGBT activists, Sophie Cunningham supporters clash outside WNBA game: 5 things to know

4. Cunningham booed during game

Members of the crowd inside the Target Center booed Cunningham several times, including during her first touch during the game.

Following the game, Cunningham’s teammate, Caitlin Clark, gave her opinion on the topic that her fellow WNBA player has received both praise and criticism for speaking out on.

“I think it’s for leagues and governing bodies to work with their athletes to find solutions,” Clark told reporters.

“Our focus is on basketball. That’s what we talk about and how we can get wins, and obviously we didn’t do that tonight,” she added. “So we need to find an area to improve in that way.”
