It was the first time this type of bomb had been used in combat and was dropped from a MC-130 aircraft, Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump said.

In the aftermath of the news, the White House was preparing to give a press briefing to give more details. However, it was reported that the giant bomb created a huge mushroom cloud, and had a blast radius of 1 mile. The region the bomb was dropped on is a vastly rural, mountainous area, according to reports.
