Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich Coming to Galaxy Tab Line in August

Most of Samsungs Galaxy Tab's could receive the Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich as early as August.

Samsung Canada recently announced that the ICS update will begin rolling out for various Galaxy Tab models before the end of the summer.

That list of Galaxy Tabs includes, the Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 WIFI, the Tab Plus 7.0 WIFI+3G, the Tab 7.7 WIFI, the Tab 7.7 WIFI+3G, the Tab 8.9 WIFI and WIFI + 3G, and the Tab 10.1 WIFI and WIFI + 3G.

The Ice Cream Sandwich update is also expected to be available for all Samsung Galaxy S2 soon.

T-Mobile began rolling out the Android 4.0 upgrade for the famed smartphone earlier this month.

The carrier finally released the official update for the SGH-T989 model of the device after many delays.

However, it is not an OTA update. Both Samsung and T-Mobile are requiring users to upgrade their system by using Kies software and a computer.

The Android 4.0.3, Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 began rolling out in India at the end of last month.

The company also recently updated its list of countries that have, or will be rolling out the Android 4.0.3, Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Galaxy S2 and its Skyrocket variant.

No dates for the upgrade were confirmed for the U.S. But with T-Mobile finally releasing it, other carriers should be following suit.

Android 4.0 launched on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in Nov. of last year. The device was not released in the U.S. until one month later.

Many Android device owners have been waiting since that time to get a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich, but Samsung has been slow to roll it out for most of the popular smartphones and tablets.
