Angelina Jolie's $1 Million Helicopter Gift for Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie has reportedly splurged on a $1 million luxury helicopter for fiancée Brad Pitt following reports that her "bridezilla" ways have placed strain to the couple's engagement.

"They've had a helicopter pad installed in the grounds of their south of France home, Chateau Miraval. So Ange thought it would be nice to buy Brad a helicopter as a surprise present," a source told The Sun U.K.

"In particular, they would like to be able to fly to and from Cannes. But even though Brad has his private pilot's license, he still needs to take a few flying lessons – which he'll start straight away," the source added.

Jolie, 36, also has her pilot's license, although she once confirmed that she is not yet ready to flying the family.

"Brad has his pilot's license and I just got my instrument rating, so we're moving forward with that but we haven't had a lot of time because of the kids ... I wouldn't fly the kids at this moment. I would only fly the kids if I had been actively flying for a few months and when I'm not at all rusty," Jolie told reporters at the exclusive Hotel du Cap in 2007.

The lavish gift left some critics suspicious about Jolie's timing as some critics suspect that the mother of six likely feels guilty about refusing to wear her $500,000 engagement ring- which was personally designed by Pitt, 48.

Jolie met with Ecuador's foreign minister on April 22, where onlookers questioned why the newly engaged actress was not wearing her 10-carat diamond ring, according to In Touch Magazine.

"She isn't fond of it," a friend told In Touch. "Nothing against Brad's design. She's just never been enamored of white diamonds."

"Emeralds are her favorite," the insider went on, adding that Jolie claims that Pitt's design "shows how little he knows her. She's so demanding. She's acting like a bridezilla."
