Antawn Jamison Interest From Bulls, Clippers, Grizzlies, and Bobcats: Player Seeking 'Good Fit'

Former Lakers player Antawn Jamison will be selecting his team more carefully a second time around.

The 16-year veteran admitted during a recent interview that he may have made too quick of a decision, jumping into a position with the Lakers last year. With a second chance to choose the right team, the player stated that he was going to weigh his options more carefully the second time around.

"I think last year, getting the opportunity to play for the Lakers and their organization, I really jumped into it," Jamison said according to CBS Sports. "Didn't really view my options, but this year I really want to make sure I'm going to the right situation, where I have a good rapport with the coaching staff and also with management I'm able to communicate and get an understanding of what they want from me."

Currently, The Bulls, Clippers, Grizzlies and Bobcats have all showed interest in the 37-year-old free agent. Instead of focusing just on numbers, Jamison added that he was looking for more of a team connection.

"Because it looks good on paper doesn't mean it's the perfect fit, so I really want to make sure the next team I go to, whether it's a one- or two-year deal, that it's a really good fit and we have a understanding with each other as well," he said. "That's why you really have to take your time and key into what's best not just for me but for my family as well."

When signing with the Lakers, Jamison accepted a low contract for the sake of playing on a winning team. After earning $140 million over a 14-year career, the player signed a Lakers contract last year worth only $1.4 million. In projections, he might have signed a $6-9 million deal somewhere else.
