Apologetics Conference to Feature Lee Strobel

Faith In Focus, an apologetics ministry, is preparing for its second run of “Truth for a New Generation,” an international apologetics conference which will feature some of the biggest names in the field including Lee Strobel, best-selling author of “The Case for Christ.”

Apologetics is a presentation of Christianity accompanied with facts which confirm its authenticity, according to Faith In Focus.

Rev. Alex McFarland, founder of Faith In Focus, explained the dynamics of the ministry.

"We've got news 24/7. We've got access to worlds of information at our fingertips,” said McFarland, who also serves as the National Consultant for Applied Apologetics for the North American Missions Board. “People expect facts from Christianity.”

McFarland referred to a recent archealogical discovery that has spurred more interest in apologetics.

"Just a few weeks ago the cave of John the Baptist was found,” he said. “There are facts out there. People are intrigued to find out that Christianity is supported by the facts of history, and by other compelling lines of evidence."

More than 4,000 people are expected to attend the conference, which will be held in Wallington, CT, on Sept. 21, 2004. Last year’s conference North Carolina drew over 4570 people from 24 states and 4 foreign countries.

Sky Angel Christian Television Network will broadcast the conference nationwide from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. EST.
