ASUS May Unveil New Smartphone and Smartwatch at the IFA 2015 (VIDEO)

ASUS will be attending the Berlin IFA next month where it has hinted it will present several products, including a smartphone and a smartwatch.

With the IFA 2015 trade expo nearing its September 4 to 9 schedule, ASUS, the world's largest PC vendor, is teasing its participation with a potential unveiling of a smartwatch, and a smartphone featuring a rear volume rocker.

There have been speculations that a new ASUS Zenfone handset is due for announcement after news emerged the device had already been certified by TENAA in China.

Codenamed ASUS_Z00TDA, the smartphone is reported to be a 5.5-inch handset with a 1080 x 1920 FHC display and 401ppi pixel density. Its processor is an octa-core CPU supported by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD slot.

It is said to have a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front shooter for selfies and video chats, as well as support for 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB connectivity.

ASUS is also preparing a successor to the ZenWatch, which it released earlier this year. The ZenWatch 2, which was expected to launched during the June 2015 Computex in Taipei, is said to be making its debut at the IFA 2015 instead.

Available in two sizes in silver, rose gold, and dark grey variants, the ZenWatch 2 will come with a number of strap options in khaki, blue and orange, grey, and stainless steel links. It will also be available with a crystal-embossed leather strap courtesy of ASUS' partnership with Swarovski.

Featuring a 2.5D AMOLED display under Gorilla Glass 3, it will have a side standby button, and include apps like activity and fitness tracker, ASUS Wellness, a remote camera, and the FoneHelper app.

Renders of the upcoming Zenfone ASUS_Z00TDA and ZenWatch have already been circulating online, and there are hints both devices will be mid-range products which will see their first official unveiling in two weeks.
