Bees Attack Young Children: 4 Kids in Critical Condition, 40 Injured

Bees have attacked 80 young children on Friday in a terrifying incident in South Africa.

It has been reported that a swarm of massive killer bees attacked a group of about 80 South African pre-school children, sparking a mass panic.

The big group of young children were said to have been out on a school field trip to play with rabbits at a local bunny park, which is about half an hour's drive outside of Johannesburg.

They had already visited the bunny park and were reportedly waiting to get back on board of their school bus when the field trip took a dramatic turn. A huge swarm of massive bees came out of nowhere and started attacking the group of kids.

An ambulance worker, Chris Botha, has said, "A swarm of bees came out of nowhere and attacked the children," according to the Global Grind.

The 80 children reportedly started running and screaming as many of them were stung by the vicious swarm.

According to South Africa's BNO News, four of the toddlers aged between two and six were hospitalized and in critical condition following the attack. Another 40 of the children were injured in the attack.

It is still unknown why the swarm of bees attacked the children, and investigators are still conducting their work. They have however said that they do not believe that the bees in this incident were the infamously aggressive Africanized honey bees, AKA killer bees, according to ABC News.
