Benefits of Sharing Our Faith

Philemon 1-7

One of the most difficult things to do as a Christian is to share your faith with others. In our society, we have become very individualistic and everything religious is relegated to what is most personal and private. It is often thought that to share one's faith with others is offensive. At times, we are fearful that we will be confronted with a hard question, or a combative attitude. Thus, we sometimes prefer to hide our faith rather than share it.

Paul encouraged Philemon by explaining that through the sharing of his faith, the message of the gospel was being heard and received. Through the sharing of faith, those outside the Christian community are exposed to the great blessings available in Christ.

We too can be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ by sharing our faith with others. In our sharing, we are to manifest the blessings we have received. Our witnessing goes far beyond explaining our belief - we desire to communicate a way of life that includes "all the good we may do in Christ."

Prayer: Help me, Lord, to be unashamed in sharing my faith so that others can see and experience the blessings you've given me.
