Beyoncé Exits Movie: Clint Eastwood Back to Drawing Board in 'A Star Is Born' Casting

Beyoncé has confirmed that she will not be starring in "A Star Is Born" remake with Clint Eastwood.

The singer and actress was closely linked to a role in the new Eastwood movie, but she has now confirmed she will not be making a movie comeback in this film.

The 31 year old singer was rumored to be linked to play Esther in the new film, however, even though she was interested in the project she has said that she has such a busy schedule she has been unable to connect and get things moving.

Beyonce told E! News: "I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood.

"For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together."

The news causes further headache for Eastwood who has been unable to close a deal with a male lead for the movie. They had been linked to a number of top Hollywood actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio but none have been available to confirm their part on the new film as yet.

Now the casting team will have to go back to the drawing board for the female lead, as it appeared they were relying on Beyonce coming on board.

At the "Trouble With The Curve" premiere - a film in which Eastwood stars in - the film director and actor said: "We've talk to several people, and we probably won't address that one till next year."

He added: "Early next year."

Eastwood has contributed to over 50 films over his career as actor, director, producer, and composer. He also has contributed music to his films, either through performing, writing, or composing. According to the box office-revenue tracking website, Box Office Mojo, films featuring Eastwood have grossed a total of more than US$1.68 billion domestically, with an average of $37 million per film.
