Beyonce, Jay Z Snubbed Kim, Kanye Wedding Because Hip Hop Mogul 'Lost Respect' for Rapper?

Beyonce and Jay Z made headlines in May when they snubbed Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kanye West and a new report claims to have uncovered the real reason why they chose not to attend.

On May 24 Kardashian, 33, and West, 37, wed in a lavish ceremony in Florence, Italy and some fans were left stunned when the rapper's best friend Jay and his famous wife Beyonce opted not to go.

Instead, the hip-hop power couple was photographed relaxing in the Hamptons and an insider claims they did not attend the reality TV star's wedding because they simply wanted to protect their brand.

"They are guarding like hell their status," a source said according to the New York Post's Page Six.

"Beyonce wasn't going to allow a Kardashian to socially climb her. And Jay didn't want Kanye with Kim — he thinks it's bad for business. I think Jay lost a little respect for Kanye there," added the source.

Prior to the wedding, gossip sites claimed West had asked Jay to be his best man, which made the hip-hop mogul's absence even more surprising.

Beyonce took to Instagram after the wedding to publicly congratulate Kardashian and West on their marriage. The touching gesture suggests there is no bad blood between the two couples.

"Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love. God bless your beautiful family," Beyonce captioned alongside a photograph of the West family.

While Kardashian has not publicly addressed the snub, her mother Kris Jenner was asked about Beyonce and Jay during a recent interview and she revealed that while they were unable to attend Kardashian's lavish wedding to Kanye West, they sent well wishes.

"You know what? There was so much commotion and excitement, I never even gave that a second thought," Jenner told KIIS 106.5 FM Radio regarding Beyonce and Jay's snub.

"I know they sent really nice wishes to Kanye and Kim and I just assumed they were working," she continued. "If you had been there you would have thought that was the last thing on anyone's mind."
