Black Friday 2011 Deals: Tech Deals this Holiday Season, Best Buy 'Midnight Madness'

Consumers looking to purchase technology's hottest items should look forward to this year’s Black Friday sales, including Best Buy's "Midnight Madness" sale starting at midnight tonight.

Best Buy will be launching a special eight-hour sale on its website starting at midnight tonight for holiday shoppers looking to get a great deal on tech items. Anxious shoppers have christened the Best Buy sale the "midnight madness" sale.

Some of the highlights are a $247.77 Gateway laptop with 2 GB memory and 320 GB hard drive, a $549.99 46-inch HDTV, a $49.99 flip video camcorder, and a free LG Marquee mobile phone with 2-year contract with Sprint.

"Midnight Madness" will only be held online and not in stores, although Best Buy locations frequently open at midnight for certain special events.

Brad Wilson, CEO of, said that everyone should expect to see more deals on computers around the $200 range. Wilson also said that several other technology products should see some price cuts.

Wal-Mart, and Best Buy are offering smartphones with HD video recording, fast processors and high-quality camera phones for as little as $125 with a two-year contract.

"That's pretty remarkable. Typically high end phones are $200 or more," said Wilson.

As for TV prices, many retailers are selling 32-inch flat-screen HDTV's for $200. Blu-Ray players could also see a price decrease.

The Barnes and Noble Nook computer tablet will drop from $139 to $99. The Nook Color will drop from $249 to $199.

Amazon may give its Kindle Fire tablet a price cut, as well. There has been no official announcement on whether or not Apple will offer its iPad for cheap.

Wilson noted that less recognizable computer tablets would most likely sell for $60 and $90.
