Bryce Crawford talks Waffle House, Bonnie Blue and being the 'worst human'
1. Crawford says he was ‘worst human being on the planet’ before coming to Christ
While Crawford is well-known as a Christian influencer, he told Mandel that he didn't always have a healthy relationship with God.
“I was the worst human being on the planet,” he recalled. Acknowledging that “I never did drugs or alcohol,” but admitted that “I’ve hurt a lot of people.”
Among the influences that led him down a dark path was his introduction to porn in the fifth grade. “It led me down this pit of deep addiction where it was like, it was just a constant daily thing. And then it warped my perception of what love was, and I was super prideful.”
Crawford said the confluence of negative behaviors made him “super anxious and depressed” before his transformation.
“I didn’t care about Jesus. I would put other people down for the sake of myself, and I used a lot of people. When I go home, even now as a Christian, I have to see people in my hometown that I hurt and that I know that I’ve done wrong.”
He continued: “I didn’t mean to hurt people. It’s just I was hurting too. Hurt people hurt people. When I was 17, and I had met Jesus, I was the most lustful, prideful, selfish, anxious, depressed, guilty, shameful version of myself.”
