Bryce Crawford talks Waffle House, Bonnie Blue and being the 'worst human'
5. Crawford stresses importance of faith, not works alone
During the conversation with Mandel, Crawford made the point that “good moral people don’t get to Heaven.” He further warned that Christians who “serve the homeless” and “go to church” are not automatically guaranteed a place in Heaven.
People who assume they'll get to Heaven because of their good deeds can expect to hear Jesus say to them, “Depart from me. I never knew you,” Crawford maintained. “The reason is because they put their trust in their works rather than Jesus.”
“I choose to do what I do not because I feel like it’s going to get me to Heaven,” he insisted. “I choose to do what I do because I have been loved by Jesus and his love has now compelled me to stop certain behaviors.”
Crawford also admitted that he's had to “cut off a few friends in a polite way” because he was concerned they would lead him “down a path” he no longer wants to pursue, given his embrace of Scripture.
