Bryce Crawford talks Waffle House, Bonnie Blue and being the 'worst human'
3. Crawford tells Mandel that Jesus is ‘the only way’ to Heaven
Mandel, who is Jewish, asked Crawford how he would respond to people who claim to have found “other paths” to the “same kind of sinless, giving, good life” and “would argue with you that it has nothing to do with what you have found.”
When asked to specifically address Hindus and why they won't be in Heaven, Crawford insisted that although “some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met” identify as Hindu, he reiterated that “if they don’t have faith in Jesus Christ ... they wouldn’t be in Heaven.”
Crawford encouraged Mandel to “imagine if there’s a mountain and there’s a God on top of the mountain and the Buddhist is on one side of the mountain, the Hindu’s on another side, the Muslim’s on one side” and the atheists and Jews are on another side. “They’re climbing the mountain and they’re all trying to get to the top, they’re all trying to get to God and they’re all on a different side because they have a slightly different perspective. But Christianity is the only religion where God comes down and meets humanity where they’re at.”
“Each narrative, even though they respect Jesus, every religion has a perspective of Jesus. The Hindu and the Buddhist think He’s a good teacher. The Muslim says He’s a prophet. The Christian says He’s God. Those can’t coexist because they’re all completely different claims.”
Crawford, who previously denounced the premise of the “Coexist” bumper sticker that features symbols representing each of the major world religions in an attempt to portray all religions as equal, highlighted how Jesus characterizes Himself as “the only way” to eternal life.
After Mandel interrupted to say this is true exclusively “to you,” Crawford argued that the statement applies to everyone, not just Christians.
