The Tumbler Ridge shooter is the latest transgender-identified shooter in a mass shooting in recent years.

In August 2025, Robert “Robin” Westman shot and killed two children and injured 14 at Annunciation Catholic School. In 2023, Audrey “Aiden” Hale shot and killed six schoolchildren at a Christian school in Nashville.

The shooter who carried out a mass shooting at The Covenant School in 2023, killing six people — three young children and three adults — also identified as transgender. 

In 2019, Maya “Alec” McKinney shot indiscriminately into a Denver classroom, killing one student.
