'Captain America: Civil War' News: Tom Holland Points Out What Makes 'Spider-Man' Unique
Any self-respecting Marvel fan will have seen the "Captain America: Civil War" trailer at least once by now. And though Marvel fanatics got to see Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and even Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) in the much-anticipated teaser, what was so obviously missing was any sign of Spider-Man. The superhero is set to return to the big screen under the Marvel Studios banner, with Tom Holland playing the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Holland recently sat down with Super Hero Hype to talk about the web-slinging superhero he is set to portray. "I have always been a huge fan of Spider-Man, and growing up, I had countless Spider-Man costumes," he said. The 19-year-old English actor and dancer added, "He's always been a big part of my life and a big part of boys' lives because everybody can relate to him."
Proving his understanding of the character, Holland pointed out what sets Spider-Man apart from the rest of the Marvel heroes. "I think one of the most interesting things about Peter Parker for us is that he's the only person in the MCU now that has a secret identity, so we all know who everyone else is," he said. "I think it's quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask."

The actor also spoke about filming for the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man film, saying that production is scheduled to start in 2016 and that it will be filmed in the same place as "Civil War."
Holland is known for his portrayal of the title role in "Billy Elliott the Musical" and for starring alongside Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor in the 2012 film "The Impossible." This year, he joined "Thor" actor Chris Hemsworth in the biographical thriller "In the Heart of the Sea."
"Spider-Man" will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in "Captain America: Civil War," which hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
The stand-alone Spider-Man film is scheduled to be released in 2017.
