A question brought partly in response to a recent wave of protests demanding action on climate change, the question on a Christian response to climate action was given to Mashua.

Mashua said human beings “have not been good stewards of the Earth” and asserted that Christians “are not supposed to see the climate crisis as something separate from our faith.”

“Personally, I can live out my faith in Jesus Christ in the direction of the environment by making adjustments, by showing myself to be a good steward of the environment,” he said.

“This world belongs to God and He sent His Son Jesus Christ to redeem it and to create a new humanity. He is focused on this world and He enlists us, as Christians, as believers, to do our part to work with Him as He fixes it.”
