Courtney Love Facing Eviction After 'Ruining' Townhouse

Courtney Love is about to be evicted from her historic 1827 New York townhouse apartment after being accused of ruining its interior and falling behind on her $27,000 monthly rent.

The 46-year-old rock singer has apparently failed to pay two months of her rent, and the owner of the West Village apartment, Donna Lyon, has had enough. In addition, E! Online reported that Love almost burned down the place back in March when a candle she left next to the window set some linens in fire.

Love, who is most famous for her marriage to grunge rock icon Kurt Cobain, is also being accused of violating the rent agreement by completely changing the interior of the home and “ruining” the antiques and specially decorated walls, according to The Daily Mail.

Lyon explained that the former Hole lead singer had painted a large portion of the property without her consent. The homeowner only found out about the re-decorations when she sent a professional to take photographs of the townhouse for a brochure, and was horrified to see the drastic changes that were made.

“The walls that had been hand painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice blue paint,” she said, after visiting to New York to see the damages for herself.

The singer has had to deal with various legal issues throughout her life, and has faced a long battle with many drug addictions, ranging from marijuana to heroin. She has also turned to different religions to try and find more stability and peace in her troubled life, and according to The Huffington Post, she has decided to stick with Buddhism for now.
