CP World Report: Israel Bus Bombing, Iran and Hamas, Pakistani Christian Girl

An Arab-Israeli has been arrested in connection with Wednesday's bombing of a bus in Tel Aviv, in which 24 people were wounded. Police report the attacker was carrying out orders from Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of creating the circumstances that caused the bombing.

Palestinian leaders are claiming victor over a cease-fire between Israel and Gaza, viewing it as a catalyst for unity between their divided factions. Supporters of Hamas and the Palestinian party Fatah gathered near Parliament in a rare display of unity that included their flags flying side by side. And the leader of Islamic Jihad--a party to the truce that was brokered by Egypt-- called for more weapons to maintain resistance against Israel.

In a related issue, Iran has been involved in developing the technology behind the rockets unleashed on Israel by Hamas, through Gaza. And now,the commander of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard --Ali Jafari-- has publicly admitted that his forces supplied Hamas with the technology to develop missiles capable of reaching Tel Aviv. Israel believes that these rockets actually belong to Iran and that they are being smuggled from Iran, to Egypt through Gaza tunnels. Hamas leader Khaled Meshal says the region has changed and claimed victory for Gaza….

A day after the Church of England rejected the ordinance of women bishops, its spiritual head, the Archbishop of Canterbury—Rowan Williams-- stated the Anglican church is quote…"blind" to the trends and priorities of a wider society. Williams, who is set to retire in December, had been pushing hard for legislation backing women bishops. The vote required two-thirds to pass, and the results of it against women Bishops is seen as a blow to the conclusion of Rowan Williams' leadership over the past decade. Many of those who voted against the proposal, maintain that since Jesus' 12 disciples were all men, there is no biblical support for women bishops. His successor, the Most Rev. Justin Welby, who also supported the proposal, added that it was a "very grim day.

The 14-year-old Pakistani Christian girl who was charged with committing blasphemy against Islam has finally been acquitted. An Islamabad court found evidence that a Muslim cleric who accused her of tearing up pages from the Quran may have been the one to plant the evidence. Rimsha Masih was arrested for blasphemy in August after she was accused of burning pages from the Quran.Her case sparked global outrage with many asking how a 14-year-old girl could be imprisoned, and the U.N. calling on Pakistan to consider changing its strict blasphemy laws. Authorities in Pakistan have said that Rimsha and her family will continue receiving protection when she returns to her poor neighborhood in Islamabad, as some Muslim neighbors still see her as guilty. Her family has been attacked before. Even Muslim extended family members of Rimsha's pose a danger
