'Dark Souls 3' Release Date News: 'Dark Souls 3' To Be Released On All Platforms On April 12, 2016

Since it was initially unveiled at the E3 2015, "Dark Souls 3" has been added by gamers as one of the most anticipated titles in 2016, and based on a recent announcement by Bandai Namco, gamers may not need to wait that long. The third person action role-playing game has been given an international release date of April 12, 2016, which is one month after its release in Japan. According to a report in Wired, publisher Bandai Namco also released two new videos – a trailer video and a gameplay video.

The game was earlier teased during the E3 2015, followed by a gameplay preview during Gamescom 2015. Made by developer FromSoftware, it is the third installment in the "Dark Souls" series, and the fourth game in the "Souls" series.

The game will be launching simultaneously on all platforms, namely the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the PC. This will give players across all platforms the chance to experience the game at the same time.

The accompanying trailer of the game gives gamers an idea of the game's setting, which is the very gothic and very dark medieval fantasy world that games in the series are known for. The player will play the role of an armor-clad knight who battles it out with fantastical creatures and beasts. According to the text insert in the trailer, it is a time when the fire has faded and "only embers remain." It also called on the players to "embrace the Darkness."

The second video released for the game featured extended gameplay footage which showed just how fierce the enemies are and what else in the environment is trying to stop the player from completing his quests.

According to another report on Tech Times, the two videos of the upcoming game prove that it will be as good-looking as the previous game in the series, "Dark Souls 2."
