‘It was a massacre’: 4 things to know about deadly church attack in Jordan

Suspects 'returned to finish off’ victims

2. The 3 men arrested for attack on Greek Orthodox Church are related

All of the suspects are Jordanian, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD), which identified the three men arrested on Monday for opening fire at the St. George's Greek Orthodox Church during a funeral last week.

The AP reported this week that the PSD identified the three suspects as Hazzah Zaidan Mohammad, Mishal Zaidan Mohammad and Ahmad Sami Hussein. Hazzah and Mishal are brothers, and Ahmad is their brother-in-law. King Abdullah II’s office gave the family name as Thneibat and listed the men’s ages as 33, 32 and 31, ABC News reported.

At the time of reporting, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the motive remains unknown. Jordanian officials have described the attackers as “extremist terrorists,” Reuters reported.
