Dog With Two Noses Finally Adopted by Loving Owner

A dog with a very unique facial feature has finally found a forever home in East Lothian, Scotland. It's taken five months for Snuffles, a Belgian shepherd who appears to have two noses, to find a good home.

"Instead of his nostrils being fused together – he's got some sort of split there," veterinarian Angela McAllister told the Daily Record. "It's a defect in his palate which gives him the appearance of having two noses as his nostrils can move completely independently of each other. I've never seen the condition in my 20-year career."

Snuffles, originally named Diesel, went through four homes before being left at the Dogs Trust. However, once his story and photo went viral, the Center was besieged with phone calls, emails, and people stating that they wanted to take in the unique dog.

"We had 40 messages and calls before we opened, plus 20 emails when we got in," Pamela Jackson, president of the Dogs Trust in Glasgow told the Mirror. "People were contacting us from the USA and South Africa as well as Britain. Some families just turned up hoping to adopt him. We wanted to pick the best home for him. The eventual new owner took him for a walk to get to know him and they got on brilliantly. He said Snuffles was perfect and everything he was looking for."

"We take in hundreds of dogs of all shapes and sizes but I have never seen anything quite like Snuffles. It is such a shame to think that this sweet-natured lad may not find the loving home he deserves just because he may not be considered a pretty pooch," Center manager Sandra Lawton told the Daily Mail. "He may not have been blessed with the looks of Lassie but he has a heart of gold and can claim to be a dog in several million."

People following the story are glad that the dog with a "heart of gold" has finally found a forever home.
