'Fixer Upper' Latest News: Stars' Representative Shuts Down Rumors of Security Threat as Reason for TV Show's End

HGTV's hit series "Fixer Upper" has been surrounded by speculations concerning its impending end. Amid all the noise, the show's stars opted to silence the swirling rumors that allegedly involve the couple's security.

The couple's representative told Entertainment Tonight the true reason why they are ending the show, dispelling rumors of threats to their family's security as the reason behind their decision. "Chip and Jo's decision to leave Fixer Upper is truly just based on wanting to catch their breath for a minute; to rest, refresh, and spend even more time with their family and growing businesses," said the Gaineses' representative.

"It is not based on concerns for their family's safety or anything else people might read," the rep continued, adding, "They were very open and honest about their reasoning behind this decision when they first shared the announcement."

Earlier this month, US Weekly reported that "Fixer Upper" TV show was posing a "security issue" on their stars, particularly on the safety of their children. A source reportedly said that the couple, despite keeping their kids away from the spotlight the best they can, was still being hounded by strangers.

"People drive by and like to take pictures in front of their house," said the source. "I think they just want to take a step back from it," the insider added.

Last month, the Waco-based real estate gurus broke the shocking news on their official blog site. They expressed their sadness over their decision, saying that though it was the right path to take, "it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with."

They said that the parting will be bittersweet, considering that it was the show that paved the way for the couple's on-cam success. It was also on the post where they explained the reason for their decision, which was their family and their growing businesses.

The show's producer, for his part, expressed his support for the Gaineses on their decision, reported CNN. High Noon Entertainment CEO Jim Berger said that he respects the couple's decision to shift their focus to their other projects, and more importantly, their family.
