Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Galaxy Nexus vs. Droid Razr
Google’s Android operating system will power two new exciting and powerful smartphones this year with the release of Motorola’s Droid Razr and Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus.
But which phone is a better buy for Android fans?
Here is a comparison of some of both smartphones top specs.
Display
The Droid Razr will include an impressive display which will be 4.3-inches. But in this department it seems the Galaxy Nexus has no competition sporting a 4.65-inch display, one of the largest in the market.
Thickness
Motorola boasts of its Droid Razr being the world’s thinnest phone. This may be true since it is only 7.1 mm in thickness. The Galaxy Nexus is not too far behind with its thickness at 8.94mm, so unfortunately, Samsung’s handset cannot compete for this record and title.
Processors
The Droid Razr sports an impressive 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Galaxy Nexus also features a 1.2GHz processor, so in this area both smartphones are pretty much equal. In terms of RAM they both feature the same amount with 1GB a piece. As far as raw power is concerned both handsets are equally as strong. The Razr will come with 16GB of internal storage while the Nexus will have the option of either 16GB or 32GB. However, the Razr will allow for an external storage card.
Camera
Galaxy Nexus features a 5 megapixel camera capable of filming in 1080p HD. Droid Razr’s camera can also film in 1080p and for picture takers this is probably the better buy since its camera is at 8 megapixels like Apple’s iPhone 4S.
NFC
The Galaxy Nexus will include NFC (near-field-communications) which enables Android Beam, a new capability for transferring media and web pages by simply touching two Android smartphones back to back. The Droid Razr will not be NFC ready.
