'Game of Thrones' Secret Episode Air Date, Plot: Kit Harington Haunted by Unused Pilot Producers Kept

There's a secret episode of "Game of Thrones" that's haunting Kit Harington. The actor famous for playing Jon Snow in the HBO series worries that producers will air it one day to embarrass him.

Harington revealed that "Game of Thrones" producers DB Weiss and David Benioff have been keeping the pilot episode they originally shot in 2010. The producers never got around to using this because it was poorly made. Once in a while, however, they would tease Harington about it.

"They say, if I ever piss them off too much, they'll release it on YouTube," Harington told The Guardian. "Every now and then, they send me a screengrab, just as a threat."

Harington shared that he wore a wig and fake beard in that unaired pilot, which no one from the current cast has also seen. This episode also featured a different Daenerys and Catelyn Stark.

The roles that cemented Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) and Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark) as iconic TV stars originally had Tamzin Merchant and Jennifer Ehle as actresses. The producers, however, felt the need to recast them.

"It's terrible to disappoint... it's difficult to let down" casting director Nina Gold told Vanity Fair about the decision to change actresses. "Jennifer Ehle is really brilliant, but I guess things changed about the way everybody saw it."

Meanwhile, the cast of "Game of Thrones" already know how the series will end. Filming of season 8 is underway and they have gone through the table read and rehearsals.

Harington admitted that he cried after reading the final season's scripts mainly because it's going to be hard to say goodbye to everyone he worked with all those years. If fans of "Game of Thrones" have grown attached to the show, then the attachment is even greater for the actors.

"Game of Thrones" season 8 will film for at least 10 months in Ireland, Spain, and Croatia. HBO has not yet announced a confirmed premiere date for the final season.
